EUCG 2025 Spring Workshop

EUCG 2025 Spring Workshop

EUCG is heading to St. Petersburg, Florida, April 27th – April 30th for our 2025 Spring Workshop! Join us and benefit from significant opportunities in networking and idea exchange with industry thought leaders from around the globe.

The workshop will take place at Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront in the heart of St. Petersburg Waterfront District, across from the Salvador Dali Museum and Al Lang Stadium. The downtown trolley passes by the hotel, and beautiful palm-lined courtyards frame the entrance, outdoor space and pool. Nicknamed "The Sunshine City," St. Petersburg is known for its tropical weather, arts and culture, shopping, dining, sports, and outdoor recreation all along a stunning shoreline that features some of the nation's top-ranked beaches. With weather that sees averages of 74°F and 361 days of sunshine per year we're excited this vibrant city will be the backdrop for our 2025 Spring Workshop!

General Session Keynotes

EUCG is delighted to have Hans Jacob, Director of Renewable Business Development at Duke Energy, as a Keynote Speaker at our General Session. Hans began his career with Duke Energy over 13 years ago after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is responsible for leading Energy Storage development activities in Duke Energy's Florida and Midwest service territories and also supports the evaluation and development of Long Duration Energy Storage technologies across all jurisdictions. Click here to see his full bio.

Hans will be giving EUCG Spring Workshop attendees a review of Duke's Energy Storage expansion plans, industry trends on technology & adoption, and acceleration needs to serve large customer loads fast.

We are also pleased to have Matt Crozat, Executive Director for Strategy and Policy Development at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI). At NEI, Matt is responsible for directing NEI efforts to identify policy initiatives that will improve economic viability of operating plants and enhance prospects for new plant construction. He also oversees analyses of nuclear industry cost performance and trends. Click here to see his full bio.

Matt's keynote presentation will be "The Changing Energy Landscape and the Role of Nuclear Energy" and will focus on the following:

Forecasts for electricity demand have rapidly escalated in recent years as datacenters, manufacturing and transportation are all increasingly expected to bring significant load increases to the grid. This is happening while energy policies poised to shape this future are being reevaluated. The role of nuclear energy will continue to evolve in response to these changes, with implications for the operating nuclear plants in the U.S. and for the deployment of advanced nuclear technologies.

Monday Night Networking Event

Please join us from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm for our Networking Reception & Dinner at FloridaRama, an arts and entertainment destination located in Warehouse Arts District.

FloridaRama is an immersive art experience — part contemporary art museum, part digital playground, part Florida roadside attraction, all mixed with retro Florida vibes and created by 80+ artists using a variety of media such as video, sound, light, sculpture and painting. Unlike a traditional art museum where you might admire the art quietly from afar, they encourage visitors to interact with the experience.

Virtual Workshop Technology

For the 2025 Spring Workshop EUCG will be using Microsoft Teams for our virtual attendees.
