Aron Patrick
Vice President of Research and Development
PPL Corporation

Aron Patrick is Vice President of Research and Development at PPL Corporation, charged with accelerating the deployment and commercialization of emerging energy and decarbonization technologies for the electric power sector. Aron manages the company’s external research partnerships with universities, national laboratories, and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), where he serves on the EPRI Research Advisory Committee. Aron also coordinates PPL’s strategic venture capital investments through PPL Technology Ventures LLC, including partnerships with Energy Impact Partners and The Westly Group. In addition, he leads PPL’s strategy for advanced generation technologies, including nuclear, carbon capture, and energy storage. In 2024, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear appointed Aron to the Kentucky Nuclear Authority, where he serves through 2028. Before joining PPL nearly a decade ago, Aron was Assistant Director of Energy Policy for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Aron is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) and as Chairman of both the Carbon Management Research Group (CMRG) and the Institute for Decarbonization and Energy Advancement (IDEA).
