In 1958, Mary Frances Burleson applied for a job at Ebby Halliday REALTORS® as a part-time secretary and receptionist. Today, she is president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies, which includes 30 offices, two real estate brands, three service companies, and more than 1,400 sales associates covering more than 12,000 square miles of North Texas. The Dallas-based firm is the largest independently owned residential real estate company in Texas and ranks 12th in the nation. The 68-year-old company participated in approximately 16,000 property transactions in 2012 with a sales volume of $4.8 billion.

In November of this year, Mary Frances Burleson will receive the National Association of REALTORS® 2013 Distinguished Service Award. Out of approximately 1 million REALTORS®, no more than two are recognized with the award each year. Ms. Burleson is the third member of The Ebby Halliday Companies to receive the award. Of the thousands of residential real estate companies in the United States, The Ebby Halliday Companies is the only one to have been honored with three NAR Distinguished Service Awards.
