David R. Ward, Jr. - Nuclear Committee Chair

            David Ward is employed with Duke Power Company in Charlotte, North Carolina in the Nuclear Generation Department - Business Management Group. He has been Duke Power’s EUCG representative since 1998 and has served as the Nuclear Committee Chair since 2002. D.Ward received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Limestone College; Master of Business from Winthrop University; and Bachelor of Science in Fire & Safety Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife Teresa have one son and live in Fort Mill, South Carolina. D.Ward is a member of the Fort Mill Church of God and a second generation firefighter with the Fort Mill Fire Department. He enjoys his family, travel, reading, riding Harleys, and attending Dallas Cowboy football games.

 

 

J. Dewade Pittman - Nuclear Committee Vice-Chair

            Dewade is employed with Southern Nuclear Operating Company as the Business Planning Manager in Birmingham Alabama. Dewade holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants and the AmericanInstitute of Certified Public Accountants. He has been Southern Nuclear's representative since 1997 and has served as the Vice Chair of the Nuclear Committee since 2002. He began his career in the utility industry in 1985; he has worked in nuclear since 1989. He and his wife Rhonda have a son at Auburn University and a daughter in high school. He lives with his family in Hoover Alabama where they are members of the Metropolitan Church of God.  He enjoys time with his family, traveling....especially to historical sites, genealogy, and working in his yard. 

 

 

Debbie Gilbertsen

      Debbie Gilbertsen is employed with Exelon Corporation in Warrenville, Illinois in the Nuclear Generation Department - Business Operations Group. Gilbertsen has recently become the EUCG Representative for Exelon Nuclear. She has been with Exelon Corporation since 1985 where she started as a member of the clerical staff.  While attending night school, Gilbertsenreceived a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Xavier University in 1991 and was promoted to management where she has based her career in the Nuclear Financial Area. She has one daughter and lives in New Lenox, Illinois. She enjoys family gatherings, vacationing, socializing with long time friends, cooking, and spending time with her daughter.

 

 

Vince Gonsalves

Vince Gonsalves is employed with Ontario Power Generation in Toronto, Ontario Canada in the Nuclear Generation Business - Business & Investment Planning Division. He has worked in OPG for 25 years - all in the power generation business.  He has been Ontario Power Generation’s EUCG primary representative since 1993 and has previously served on the EUCG Board in the capacity of Marketing Director. Vince has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics & Physics and attained his Certified Management Accountant degree in 1978 from the Canadian Management Accounting Institute. He lives in Mississauga Ontario with his wife Pat and his two sons. Vince is an active member of the Merciful Redeemer Catholic Church in Mississauga and he enjoys playing golf, reading, travel and sports. He enjoys watching sport teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees.

 

 

Christine Messer - Nuclear Committee Database Manager

Chris is the sole proprietor of Programming Plus+, a company specializing in custom software development and data management for the last 15 years. Chris works mainly in the utility industry, supporting many utilities across the country.  She is also the database manager for EUCG Hydro and T&D committees, and additionally supports other surveys for the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington. Chris has 2 degrees in Computer Science and Math, and formerly worked for PPL Corporation in Allentown, PA. Chris lives in Center Valley, PA with her husband Mike, her son Eric, and their chocolate labrador Maggie.  She enjoys running, skiing, golfing, and spending time with her family at the Jersey shore.

 

 

Rodney J. Miller

      Rod Miller is employed by PPL Susquehanna, LLC in Allentown, PA in the Nuclear Business Improvement Group. He has been PPL Susquehanna's EUCG representative since 1999 and has served on the Nuclear Leadership Team since 2002. Rod received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the Pennsylvania State University; a Mastersof Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh; and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of PA. He and his wife Marie have a teenage son and daughter and live in Cherryville, PA. Rod has been an active member of the Lehigh Township Athletic Associationand has coached youth teams in all sports over the last 10 years. He enjoys his family, travel, golf, Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles Football, and Phillies baseball.

 

 

Alan W. Rabe

Alan Rabe is employed by FirstEnergy in Akron, Ohio.  He works for FENOC as the Administrative Program Manager.  He has been active in EUCG since 1998 and on the Nuclear Committee Leadership Team since 2002.  He has a Masters of Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and has received certifications as a Professional Engineer, Site SRO Certificate, Certified Internal Auditor, and ASQ Quality Auditor.  He is active in church and Boy Scouts.  Interests include genealogy and soccer.  He and his wife, Carmen, have four children and live in Mentor, Ohio.

 

 

James F. Szivos

      Jim Szivos works for Constellation Energy, at the Constellation Generation Group’s Headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland.  He is in charge of fleet benchmarking, which is part of the Fleet Optimization Department. Jim recently became Constellation’s EUCG representative.

Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and has a Master of Business Administration Degree from Loyola College of Maryland.  He has worked both at nuclear plants and fossil plants.  He and his wife Mary have four children and live in Glen Arm, Maryland.  Jim’s hobbies include time with his family, golf, guitar, hockey, reading, and church volunteer.  Jim is also a Commander in the Naval Reserves.
