For 2009:
EUCG IT Committee’s vision is to be the recognized cost effective industry source for Utility IT financial and performance benchmarking data and to use information to deliver value added, cost effective IT solutions and services that support our respective core businesses.
We will achieve our vision by:
- Continually seeking to expand our membership so that we can provide good peer comparisons.
- Collecting and sharing structured benchmarking metrics of cost and performance
- Sharing best practices ( internal perspective ),
- Providing a forum to discussing business/IT issues and challenges (external IT perspective) and
- Providing access to industry participants.
Few forums provide ongoing opportunities for utility IT organizations to discuss emerging technologies, best operating practices, service delivery models, benchmarking and analysis, and business-technology integration. The EUCG IT Committee will provide the following opportunities:
Provide quality IT benchmarking:
- Develop appropriate performance and cost metrics.
- Refine methodology, data collection and analysis of benchmark results.
- Continue use of an independent 3rd party to administer data collection and a data management system.
- Exchange relative IT benchmark metrics.
Share quality best practices:
- Identify top performers and areas that show opportunity for improvement
- Provide forums for top performers to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Share lessons learned on internal process execution Share experiences on deploying new services and technologies
- Share experiences on deploying new services and technologies
Provide a forum and network for discussing business issues and challenges
- Discuss business/IT alignment challenges
- Engage Utility IT leaders to share perspectives on future issues and challenges
- Provide an immediate network of experienced peers
Leverage the EUCG Inc. to minimize overall costs.
- Provide a cost effective alternative to outside vendors for benchmarking
Fee Structure:
There are two low cost membership options for ITC, Data Members ($5,100) and Forum Members ($3,100):
- Membership to the ITC is limited to electric utilities
- Forum members – provides participate in best practice forums and other IT-related information exchanges only. The annual fee for Forum members is $3,100 ($2,000 for ITC plus $1,100 for EUCG administration.
- Data members - provides participation in the IT benchmark process and in the best practice forums and information exchanges. Data members have access to the benchmark database on a give-to-get basis. The annual fee for Data Members is $5,100 ($4,000 for the ITC plus $1,100 for EUCG administration).
The above fees will serve towards membership in the IT Committee for the 2008 year. Conference information and committee updates will be mailed to you as they are available. Once membership is ensured with fee payment, you will gain member access to the EUCG web site at www.eucg.org.
